Many employers offer a matching gift program to their employees. Matthew Tayback’s, Sc.D., philosophy on life was simple, says his daughter, Sheila Leatherman. “He said, ‘All of us have the responsibility to try to do something good in our lifetimes,’” she recalls.

At age 85, Dr. Tayback remained committed to public health and despite his cancer diagnosis, 他继续作为一个国际小组的一员参与研究生活在西岸和加沙的巴勒斯坦人的营养状况.

She adds, “The spirit of the gift was so Hopkins could remain at the cutting edge of medicine, because that’s what my father was in his time there.”
